Happy Father's Day!

Yes, I know that was yesterday, but Father's Day sorta snuck up on me this year and I was in panic mode!   Fortunately, Mary at SVG Cuts came to the rescue with some box cards that really wowed the recipients.  This one was for DH and I enjoyed tremendously making it because the technique is very different.  So, watch the tutorial first and do NOT embellish the inserts until they have been glued in place.  No prizes for guessing why I'm passing on this tip!  Now, would it be possible to make this into a jewelry case or a make-up box?  Hmmmm!

This box card was for my DSIL, long suffering Dada to Master J. I had a piece left over with this one and still have no idea where it goes!

This one was for my DS,  father of our beautiful, well behaved, and always obedient DGDs!  He is a great BBQ chef.  I used Glossy Accents on the six pack bottles to make them look more authentic.  Then, while they were still wet, I absentmindedly put a piece of paper on top of them!  Oh, well!  Two coats of Glossy Accents are better than one right?

Hoping that everyone had a wonderful day and I have every intention of having cards done by the end of May next year!   Thanks for visiting with me today and please pop back on Wednesday for my blog post for Sheila at She's a Sassy Lady.  I'll be sharing my experiences with the Anna Griffin Fabulous Flip Card dies.  : )  Christine

Father's Day Cards

Just a quick post to share the Father's Day cards for my DS and DSIL.  They were inspired by the post by Adrienne here and I have to say that these CTMH Jackson papers are so gorgeous that I was spoiled for choice.  Enable me anytime, Adrienne!

Minc - ing!

She's here!   The Anna Griffin Minc machine.  Yahoo!     This is my first attempt at laser 'cut then print' images with Design Space and the Explore.

Note to self: -  Handle cuts carefully as you take them off the mat

Don't crowd cuts into the fold of the carrier

Throw out all white core cardstock!

Make sure letters are immediately glued straight because trying to move
them leaves GLUE smears on the foil!

DH objected to the Blackletter font.  But I like it!   What do you think?    Thanks for visiting today.   : )  Christine

Father's Day Card for DH

A quick post to show you the Father's Day card for DH.  This is version 3!!!!!  I used the Explore and Cricut pens to draw the fish images and I was surprised how easy it was to change the pens when prompted.  I wish the pens had a finer point, though.  The sentiment comes from a Make It Now project but I thought the rest of the project too cartoonish for my purpose.  KWIM?  So, a card base and various fish have been added to my reject drawer for the DGDs to use.

Our family got together yesterday morning and we got to watch Master J devouring bagels and fruit salad.  He asked for more watermelon - well, that's what his mom said he wanted! The rest of us were laughing so hard at the incredible way he mispronounced it!  Hard to believe that he is 2 next week.

The DGDs played with the old F-P castle with Auntie K and practiced their persuasive skills as they assigned the Knights between the three of them.  (LOL!)   We are so blessed.

Thanks for visiting with me today.  : ) Christine

Happy Father's Day!

Several of the recently added 'Make It Now' projects on Design Space feature a background of repeated images drawn by the Explore.  My mind filled with possibilities.  Listening, for once (LOL!) to the inner voice that sounds remarkably like my long - time friend Maggie B, I settled on something quite simple.

I found this image of a baseball bat and ball on 'A Child's Year' and imported it onto a card canvas in Design Space.  Using the x and y axis measurements, I arranged the duplicated images in a pleasing pattern.  Choosing a copper metallic marker, I sent the mat through the Explore.  Cool!

I added a sentiment from the 'Father's Day Set' and cut it in copper metallic paper from my stash.  My card needed a splash of color and I found this vintage baseball postcard in the Graphic45 Good Ol' Sports stack and added 3 nail heads. (They are copper colored - honestly!  I have no idea why they didn't photograph that way.)

The challenge on the FCCB this week is to Celebrate Dad.  The DT did a great job!

The challenge at BBTB2 is also a Father's Day theme.  Inspiring!

AND Mary at CardzTV is also featuring a challenge for Father's Day.  Pop over and take a look here!

Thanks for visiting with me today.  I'm off to buy more plants for the garden.  : ) Christine
